Strengthening the case for devolution

Devolution is a big deal for the regions, to unlock public and private investment. It also involves complex lobbying to inform, inspire and persuade at all levels: from grass roots communities to central government.

York and North Yorkshire’s combined ambitions are to be England’s first Rural Powerhouse and City Region and we were commissioned to develop a series of compelling communications to introduce senior Westminster civil servants to the incredible potential delivered by joining city and region together.

We won the tendered project on the basis of our strategic understanding combined with our stand out creative abilities, as demonstrated by previous work for the project partners: City of York Council, York and North Yorkshire Local Enterprise Partnership and North Yorkshire County Council.

Developing a simple but powerful campaign concept and story narrative to carry the many benefits messages was essential.

This enabled communication of the key strength of combining and framed the opportunities, the challenges and the exceptional assets available to drive growth and sustainability in tandem.

This was delivered through a video, presentation assets and an interactive digital prospectus – and all in just over two weeks with our trademark collaborative approach working with the clients and partners!

Impressed civil servants and the first critical steps made to achieving a great devo deal for the region.
